Baxterworld has been around for well over 30 years. We pride ourselves on providing a valuable and accurate accountancy service, but also on creating a friendly and personable relationship with our clients.

We provide accountancy services to small businesses around the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. But our roots are in Belfast, Northern Ireland. If you have phoned us at any time you will definitely have spoken to one of these friendly faces. So lets meet the team…

Ray Baxter

Founder, CEO

Ray is an influential member of the management accounts community in the UK, having served as the NI president of CIMA and as an SME Ambassador for Accountancy Europe. He carries over 30 years experience in finance and has chaired several small businesses throughout his career.

 

Catherine McRory

Director

Catherine has been working at Baxterworld for over 20 years. She has an incredible knowledge of several industry sectors (our resident charity expert) and oversees the day to day running of the office. She earned her CIMA qualifications in 2014 and was quickly promoted to the position of director.

Our team of accountants:

Jenni Freel

An accountancy post graduate, Jenni worked as a manager in food and beverage for nine years before joining the Baxterworld team and is now a team leader. She is well on her way to gaining the ACCA qualification. Jenni has diverse experience of different business sectors and leads the on-boarding of new “full service” Clients.

Megan Beggs

Megan gained her BA (Hon) in Business with Accounting from Ulster University. She continued her studies and went on to earn two levels in Computerised Bookkeeping. Megan has also gained over 11 years of valuable experience working within the retail sector in various roles.

Veronica McAllister

Veronica was Baxterworld’s first employee many years ago. After branching out to various other accountancy practices, and also a few years of being self employed, she has now returned home. Veronica brings extensive experience in all aspects of accountancy work such as client bookkeeping, statutory accounts, tax returns, VAT returns, payroll and HMRC compliance work. Veronica is a member of the Institute of Accounts Technicians Ireland and the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.

Gabriela Ichim

Born in Romania, where she gained her degree, Gabby moved to Northern Ireland in 2009 where she worked in food and hospitality for many years. She eventually decided to focus on a career in Accountancy and started her professional studies.

Tom Ellis

Born in Kent, Tom came to Belfast after studying for his degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University. He has extensive work experience as a manager in the retail sector and is now pursuing professional accountancy qualifications.

Christine Tweedie

Christine came to us with good academic qualifications after a sudden mid-life change of career, moving from healthcare to accountancy. She has a natural aptitude for bookkeeping and numbers and is currently studying the Accounting Technicians course, having achieved Level 4.

Alistair Culbert

After gaining his BA (Hons) in Accountancy, Alistair spent 8 years in retail management before becoming part of Baxterworld. He brings valuable “large Company” experience to the Team and is part way through his professional studies with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

William Burlingham

William, our IT Operations Technician, came to us with a wide-ranging knowledge of business information technology. His interest in computers began at an early age by supporting the IT needs of his family’s business. Within Baxterworld he has a wide brief including supporting multi-screen workstations, maintaining the security of our servers, supporting the various communications systems used by the Practice, and developing integrations within accounting and POS software applications.

Ellen Baxter

Ellen looks after Human Resources activity for the practice, from recruitment to salary levels and disciplinary procedures. Previously she founded and managed several businesses in the hospitality sector including two bakeries, a coffee shop, and a restaurant in Belfast city centre.
